Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team provides a vital service in delivering search and rescue cover for the whole of the Northumbria Police area, a vast and largely remote and unpopulated area encompassing all of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, and measuring approximately 5000 square kilometres (3000 square miles).
